e-Estonia at the Mobile World Congress 2016

Estonia is showcasing its cutting edge technological solutions on the e-Estonia stand, between 22-25 February at the Mobile World Congress. Visitors to the stand will be able to find out more about e-Residency, the government-issued trans-national digital identity that is available to everyone across the world, and will be able to apply for it on-site. Ten different companies will demonstrate
Estonia’s top-notch mobile technological solutions.

‚ÄčInvestment in revolutionary ICT infrastructure, the adoption of e-services, and a world-class, multilingual ICT talent pool have established Estonia as one of the best new locations for developing, testing, and implementing ICT services - on a worldwide basis. Estonia was the first country in the world to launch several innovations, such as i-voting, e-taxation, and e-Residency, to name but a few. Through Estonia’s latest innovation, the e-Residency project, the country is building a borderless digital society and unleashing the world’s entrepreneurial potential. Financial and web service
providers, start-ups, and developers alike are all invited to build on the e-Residency platform and take advantage of the secure eID system to avoid country-specific solutions and have quick access to international markets. The same e-Residency platform can help individual entrepreneurs and
freelancers easily establish and run location-independent businesses online.
