Smart-ID Again Named the Most Customer-Friendly App

According to a recent Kantar Emor survey, Estonians rate Smart-ID as the most customer-friendly mobile app for the second year in a row. Smart-ID topped both international and local mobile applications’ rankings.

Smart-ID, installed on every second Estonian’s phone, led the Estonian-made app rankings and was followed by investment app Lightyear, and transportation app Lux Express. In the overall list that includes global apps, Smart-ID was also placed first in front of Swedbank, Shazam, Waze, and SHEIN.

According to Emor, the most used application of a company operating in Estonia is Smart-ID, which has been downloaded by every second resident of Estonia. Apps related to banking (Swedbank), and retail trade (Lidl Plus and Selver Partnerkaart) are also widely used. Among the service apps, the most common are Bolt, Bolt Food and Wolt. The state-offered Eesti.ee app is downloaded by 18% of Estonian residents.

Simplicity, reliability, and smoothness are key factors users value in mobile apps. They dislike outdated designs, slow performance, or excessive notifications, emphasizing the balance brands must strike to remain useful.​ Smart-ID ticks here every box and the repeat success underscores Smart-ID’s seamless role in Estonia’s digital ecosystem.

Emor conducted the survey in February 2026 and 1150 Estonian residents aged 16+ participated in it. The study evaluated 113 mobile applications of companies operating in Estonia based on satisfaction and ease of use, combining them into a customer-friendliness index across local and global categories.
