SK ID Solutions Receives Livonia Award for Strengthening Latvia–Estonia Business Ties
On 2 July, SK ID Solutions was recognised with the Livonia Award for its business performance in Latvia and its contribution to stronger economic relations between Latvia and Estonia. The award was presented to SK in Tallinn by the presidents of Lativa and Estonia during the Latvia–Estonia Business Forum.
The Livonia Award highlights companies that successfully develop business in both countries and help deepen cooperation across the border. This year, the award acknowledged SK ID Solutions for its achievements in Latvia and its role in supporting trusted digital cooperation between the two neighbouring markets.
The award was presented by the President of Latvia, the President of Estonia, the Ambassador of Estonia to Latvia, and the Ambassador of Latvia to Estonia. SK ID Solutions CEO Kalev Pihl and Ludmila Bērica, Country Manager of SK ID Solutions in Latvia, accepted the award on behalf of the company.
“Twenty-five years ago, SK ID Solutions was founded to support the digitalisation of Estonia’s private and public sectors in a more secure way. Nine years ago, we brought that same mission to Latvia, and we are very proud that Smart-ID is now among the top five brands in both Estonia and Latvia according to the Emor survey. We also have nearly as many Smart-ID users in Latvia as there are people in Estonia,” said Kalev Pihl, CEO of SK ID Solutions.
“Smart-ID’s success in Latvia has been the result of close cooperation with SK’s owners, Swedbank and SEB, as well as our local partners. The average Latvian Smart-ID user now uses the app almost every day, which is a fantastic result,” he added.
