Changes in SK Time-Stamping Service
On March 18, 2026, the SK Time-Stamping Service certificate will be updated, affecting all users of the service.
At 14:00 EET on March 18, 2026, new Time-Stamping Unit (TSU) certificates -“SK TIMESTAMPING UNIT 2026E” and “SK TIMESTAMPING UNIT 2026R” will be taken into use.
New Time-Stamping Unit Certificates
The new TSU certificates can be downloaded from the SK repository:
The new certificates are added to the Estonian Trusted List (TL) in the latest version under sequence number 70, which was published in January 2026.
The signing algorithms and architecture of the SK Time-Stamping Service will remain unchanged.
Actions Required for Information Systems
Information systems performing signing and signature validation must be configured to trust the new Time-Stamping Service certificate directly or ensure that the Trusted List (TL) is updated.
We strongly recommend making the necessary changes in your information systems before March 18, 2026. Failure to implement these updates in time may lead to interruptions in Time-Stamping Service usage, including:
- Signing documents
- Validating signatures
- X-Road data exchange
