Starting from today, the ESTEID-SK 2015 Intermediate Certificate must be configured in e-services

01.03.2016

As of today, the Police and Border Guard Board is issuing end-user certificates for identity documents with stronger cryptographic algorithms. In order for all e-services to continue operating with the new generation certificates, e-service providers must implement ESTEID-SK 2015 intermediate certificate.

Adding the new ESTEID-SK 2015 intermediate certificate is necessary to all information systems and applications in which it is possible to authenticate and provide digital signatures using Estonian ID-cards, Mobile-ID, digi-ID, residence permit card and e-resident’s digi-ID. The change also affects all systems in which the validity of digital signatures can be checked. We thank e-service providers who have already configured the intermediate certificate!

If you have not added the new intermediate certificate to the configuration, users will not be able to access your e-service with their Estonian ID-card, Mobile-ID, digi-ID, residence permit card or e-resident’s digi-ID and the service will not recognise their digital signatures.
