Sertifitseerimiskeskus will implement a new root certificate

Sertifitseerimiskeskus will implement a new root certificate – EE Certification Centre Root CA and will go over to new certification chains. The first ID-card/Digi-ID/Mobile-ID identification certificates from the new certification chain will be issued July 11, 2011.

Due to this in ADDITION to the support of existing certificates, the support of all new certificates has to be configured in the information systems, e-services and applications, where it is possible to authenticate and provide a digital signature with an ID-card/Digi-ID and Mobile-ID.

Information regarding implementation of the new root certificate is available on the web page http://www.id.ee/eng/newroot . New certificates are available on /en/repository/certs/ .

Test cards, the test certificates of which are identical to the profiles of new certificates and which have been issued from the test chain similar to the product system, can be ordered from the Sertifitseerimiskeskus.

Planned time schedule:
  • 11.05 New test cards are available in the Sertifitseerimiskeskus.
  • 08.06 It is possible to agree upon a configuration test of the support of the new certificates with a pilot card (the pilot card is provided with certificates issued from the new chain).
  • May 24, June 02, 07, 14, 21 at 9:00 there will be demo mornings in the Certification Centre office, where it is possible to obtain further information on the changes.
  • July, 11 first ID-card/Digi-ID/Mobile-ID identification certificates from the new certification chain will be issued.
